This is a terrific site, hosted by New Zealander, Jamie Frater.
The idea is simply to publish a series of lists and invite comments on them. Some of the comments are hilarious; some are thoughtful; and some are very strange. For example, a list of the ten ugliest female celebrities in the world (in which Helen Clark was ranked #3) elicited the following comments from readers:
Whoopi Goldberg [#5] looks like a turd with braids
Paris Hilton [who didn't make the list] is ugly because her heart is dark.
And so on.

I (Jamie Frater) started the list Universe in July, 2007 because I love lists and trivia. Since I started the site it has grown enormously - mostly due to the brilliant comments that the readers leave. I am a professional software designer and have studied post-graduate music (opera mainly) at the Royal College of Music in London. I am from New Zealand but live in England at present.
